RTD Leadership Recruitment Campaign

The AECT Research Theory Davison (RTD) is kicking off the recruitment campaign for the January 2017 election. We hope you will consider nominating yourself and becoming an active, engaged leader in AECT. If you are interested in any of the position below, please feel free to contact E-Ling Hsiao, RTD President, at





4 years

Year 1, President-Elect Designate: Assists the President-Elect with conference planning and program proposal evaluation.
Year 2, President-Elect: Chairs the division convention planning activities.
Year 3, President: Conducts all business, meetings, and other tasks relating to division activity within AECT.
Year 4, Past President: Responsible for elections of officers and R&T division awards.

Division Representative to the AECT Board

3 years

Serves as the liaison between the R&T Division Board, and the AECT Board. 

Featured Research Coordinator  

1 year

Responsible for reviewing, selecting and arranging featured research sessions for the AECT convention.

Professional Development Coordinator-Elect  

3 years

Year 1, Professional Development Coordinator Elect: Assists the Coordinator with professional development event planning and NSF application submission.
Year 2, Professional Development Coordinator: organizes professional development events for R&T members including the annual early career symposium which involves submitting an application to the NSF for funding.
Year 3, Past Professional Development Coordinator: takes responsibility for collecting data from the symposium participants, analyzing the collected data and writing the NSF grant project
Note: The candidate should have a faculty position.

Communications Officer  

1 year

Acts as RTD Webmaster and runs the division's social media channels.

Graduate Student Representative  

1 year

Acts as the liaison to the Graduate Student Assembly and provides a voice for graduate students to R&T leadership.
Attends division meetings and supports assigned tasks.
Note: The representative must be a current graduate student.

Attends division meetings and supports assigned tasks.

Documents meetings, prepares minutes and completes other tasks as assigned by the division president.
