Dear Authors,

Welcome to the first 2013 issue of Author Zone!
We’d like to thank all our readers, authors, and contributors for their support in 2012 and we look forward to working with you this year.

In this issue you can learn about our latest acquisition of Papers, a reference manager that helps you organize, share and cite research literature more effectively.

You can also share in the celebration of the official launch of the Springer Book Archives, which took place at the American Library Association Midwinter Meeting. The archive launched with an impressive 37,000 titles, and the occasion was marked by a reception held 605 ft above Seattle on the observation deck of the iconic Space Needle.
