Walden University recently announced that its graduate degree programs in educational technology have been updated to reflect Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) standards and incorporate the latest developments in cloud computing, gaming simulation, and multi-device and mobile learning.

Former AECT Board President Dr. Ana Donaldson played a lead role in redesigning Walden’s online Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Educational Technology and Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Educational Technology programs.

“These programs are unique in the field in that they are designed to foster education innovation across the entire learning spectrum—from kindergarten to graduate classrooms to corporate training programs. The courses are project-based, so participants will get hands-on experience in using the latest technologies to create eLearning modules and interactive instructional media for a wide range of learners and learning environments,” Dr. Donaldson said.

Reflecting Walden’s mission to promote social change, the programs also focus on providing students with the leadership and communication skills needed to lead change in the classroom and the workplace. A post-master’s certificate embedded in both programs enables students to earn a career-building credential after completing seven quarters.
